Old Geula-Related Posts Mentioning Rav Shteinman ZTVK"L

The entire Am Yisrael is saddened to hear of the passing of Rav Aharon Yehuda Leib Shteinman ZTVK"L last night.  I, along with many from the Chicago Jewish community, merited to see him when he visited here about 12 years ago when he spoke in the largest capacity synagogue in town to an overflow crowd.  Here are a few of the geula-related posts on this blog where Rav Shteinman ZTVK"L was mentioned:

Rav Shteinman: Ge'ula Close! (5766)
Hashem1.net (in his first post in a while) reports (via the magazine Bikhilah) that Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman said "The awakening of the Jewish world in the Diaspora, as far as we can see, testifies that it is clear that the arrival of Mashiah is close!"

The crowd who heard this was apparently left stunned.

Geula Update from Rav Fish - Tzav 5772
I heard from a Jew who returned from the Diaspora recently and heard there from one of the community leaders who recently asked advice from Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman Shlit"a whether he should buy land to build a synagogue. Maran [Rav Shteinman] answered him in the following words: "For what? Even though Haza"l said that in the future, HKB"H will transfer the synagogues of the Diaspora to the Land of Israel, but it's not clear that He will transfer the land too! You will only have a chance to buy the land, but you won't have a chance to build until Mashiah comes!" (The story came first-hand [to Rav Fish], and the source wishes to remain anonymous.)

Geula Update from Rav Fish - Shemini 5773
It was also publicized over the holiday that Maran Rav Shteinman Shlit"a told Rav Dov Povarsky Shlit"a in regard to the new government that we already see "the feet of the messenger of good tidings".

Rav Shteinman Shlit"a on Our Times (End of 5773)
Kikar reports:

At the end of his regular Motza'ei Shabbat Shiur, Rav Shteinman Shlit"a said:
We find ourselves in the birth-pangs of Mashiah. And just like during the birth-pangs of labor, the closer it gets to the birth, the contractions are harder, similarly with the birth-pangs of Mashiah - the closer we get to Mashiah, the decrees become harsher and more numerous.
In conclusion, he wished that:
HKB"H should help that we should already reach the Geula. Let the year conclude along with all its curses - that Hashem should help that that which the Rasha Lapid Yimah Shemo [the evil Lapid - may his name be blotted out] plans to do should not come to fruition.

Rav Shteinman Shlit"a: Recent Troubles are Hevlei Mashiah (5774)
Mashiach is Coming blog:
Chadrei Charedim report and KikarHashabat report that Harav Shteinman Shlit"a addressed family members and close associates before Maariv this Motzaei Shabbat and said that the tragedies that people are experiencing are part of "chevlei Mashiach" and that we are already seeing the light. The Rav called on people to take something upon themselves, even something small. The Rav asked that people should strengthen themselves in Torah and fear of G-d and in this merit we will see the redemption soon.

Rav Chaim Kanievsky Shlit"a to Kiruv Worker: Return from Odessa Immediately, Mashiah is on the Way (5774)

Rav Shteinman seemed to disagree with Rav Kanievsky regarding the Kiruv worker needing to return immediately.

Rav Uri Zohar Quotes Gedolim on Mashiah (5774)
In a Kikar article that is taken from the Israeli Yated, Rav Uri Zohar was interviewed for Lev Le'achim and tells us what Rav Chaim Kanievsky Shlit"a and Rav Shteinman Shlit"a said about Mashiah.

...
A 4-year-old girl in Yokne'am was a daughter of completely secular parents. The father took her a few times on Saturday nights to her grandfather's house to say "Shavu'a Tov". Once, they got there early and she saw her grandfather making Havdala. The girl was very interested. "What is this?" she asked her father. He stuttered a little.

The grandfather heard and asked his son, "You never brought her to the synagogue?"

"No," answered the father.

The girl didn't let go. "Abba, I want you to take me to the synagogue."

The father decided to bet on something that would ensure his standing. He stipulated with her, "If you will stop sucking your finger, I'll take you."

He was sure that the condition would never be met. However, the girl paid the price. The first night, she didn't sleep, but she didn't suck her finger. She wanted the right to go to the synagogue. The second night, the same thing. On the third day, the daycare teacher called, "What happened with your daughter? She is sleeping in the middle of daycare." The mother was embarrassed to tell her.

On the sixth day, the mother already decided that the payment must be paid... She informed the father that he must take the girl to the synagogue, "and if not, you're not going to just deal with the girl, but with me!"

And he took her!! The story goes on that the mother started lighting Shabbat candles, and this family in Yokne'am today is getting others to become Ba'alei Teshuva all around them.

I was moved to tears when I heard this story. The soul of a Jewish girl.

And when they told over this story to Maran the Rosh Yeshiva Hagaon Rav Aharon Yehuda Leib Shteinman Shlit"a, he was amazed and declared, "This is the light of Mashiah!!"

Geula Update from Rav Fish - Balak 5774
On p. 15 of the pdf is a picture from Yated Ne'eman on 3 Tammuz, 5774, which brings down that] Rav Aryeh Finkel Shlit"a, who is in Lakewood, quoted Rav Chaim Kanievsky Shlit"a and Rav Shteinman Shlit"a as saying Mashiah is really on the doorstep and wants to enter. However, we need to strengthen ourselves and say, "Na'aseh Venishma" and not wait for Yissurim [suffering].

Rav Shteinman Miracle Story

(Rav Shteinman Shlit"a was brought a couple American boys for a Beracha by an American Avrech. Rav Shteinman said in Yiddish that these boys did not undergo a proper Berit Milah. The Avrech couldn't bring himself to tell this to the boys, but one of the members of Rav Shteinman's household did so. The boys started crying, saying that indeed, a non-Jewish doctor performed a circumcision on them when they were babies, and they thought it was OK. They subsequently underwent a Hatafat Dam Berit, and returned to Rav Shteinman to thank him. They felt very happy that they performed this Mitzva now. They asked Rav Shteinman how he knew, but Rav Shteinman changed the subject.)

(Rav Kanievsky Shlit"a said that Rav Shteinman definitely has Ru'ah Hakodesh, but there's no proof from the story above. He explained that it is possible to tell this by merely looking at their faces.)

Rav Shteinman Shlit"a Tells Sheli'ah in Panama: Tell Your Family to Make Aliya Before Sukkot (End of 5775)
From Kooker (h/t Sod1820) - my translation:
A surprising ruling: In recent months, a number of statements were recorded that awakened many reverberations regarding the matter of the coming of Mashiah with the conclusion of the Shemitta year, as is brought in the words of Haza"l.

The lecturer Rav Aryeh Landau Hakohen revealed on his Facebook page a conversation that took place with a G-d-fearing Jew who served in special Shelihut for the past 6 years in Panama.

That Jew, so describes the lecturer, went up to the home of Maran Haga'on Rav Aryeh Yehuda Leib Shteinman Shlit"a to ask if he should continue his Shelihut there for the Jewish community. Maran Haga'on Rav Aryeh Yehuda Leib said, "You have nothing to return to there for... Do not leave Israel!"

Maran the Rosh Yeshiva continued with the words that amazed the Sheli'ah in Panama: "You should inform your family that remains there to make Aliya to Israel immediately before Sukkot." Maran Haga'on Rav Aryeh Yehuda Leib instructed to relay this message to the entire community.

The lecturer, Rav Aryeh Landau Hakohen, verified the details to Kooker and revealed that in the wake of Haga'on Rav Aryeh Yehuda Leib's ruling, that Jew left his Shelihut in Panama and returned to Israel.

"We don't calculate the End Times," the lecturer said to us, "but if Maran Haga'on Rav Chaim Kanievsky repeated 7 times this year and said that 'The Mashiah is at the doorstep', it is a sign to us that great things are happening behind the curtains. The Arab world is fighting between themselves, revolutions are occurring in the world, and we as Jews believe that the defining moment of the coming of Mashiah is closer than ever."
