The Forward Goes Geula Blogging II

After my initial surprise over a year ago about an article in the Forward with a Geula-predicting theme, they have now published a second piece, albeit in a mocking tone (again), about another Geula prediction:
But one of the most important and relevant rabbis of our time points to a much more imminent end. Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi (1745–1812) was the founder of Chabad and was its first rabbi (Alter Rebbe, as the Lubavitch refer to him). He was the genius of Torah, responsible for the Tanya. In his book “Maamarei Admor Hazakein,” the old rabbi offered his own calculation: the Hebrew year of 5775, the year that will begin in September 2014.

Might 2014 to Chabad be what 2012 was to Mayans? The answer, Baruch Hashem, is cryptic: The rabbi could be talking about the end of the world, but could also mean the end of exile. And this exile could be physical exile, or it could be spiritual exile, which in itself is a complex, abstract concept, and so on. In fact, the ongoing debate concerning the end date — this relieved and disappointed crossing-out of previous “end dates” from the calendar — seems in itself a practice of Jewish faith: Time, we learn again and again, has many ends. As many as there are people in the world.
See what Rav Fish wrote about the Ba'al Hatanya's words here.

(It's interesting that these things are being publicized via the Forward.  It must be Lebalbel Hasatan.  The same site that publishes garbage pieces like this needs to be the vehicle for eternal hope in order to confuse the Satan.  No other explanation I can think of.)

I don't know where in Ma'amarei Admor Hazakein.

However, as I linked to Rav Fish's old post, I found the reference in the Konanta Me'az, sort of.

Email me if you want it.

BS"D I went through the maamar from Rav Fish and the Etz Chaim, it was hashgacha pratis to see this on Motzei shabbos Yude Shevat, and i happened to be in 770... I am sure the Rebbe and all the Rebbeim were there cheering.

I think the bottom line is to teach, learn, and publish the mystical teachings of the Torah, particularly pertaining to the geulah. I heard from my holy moshpia that pretty soon there will no longer be "chofshiim" - "free" Jews. This is tchiyas hameisim.

Yes, it seems that the 9 months of Din on those who would devastate us from within and from without began with the death of Ariel Sharon on the 10th of Shevat. 271 days later, the gematriah of harayon, is the first night of Sukkot 5775. According to Yishayahu 34 there will be a full year of recompense (payback) for the cause of Tzion which should begin on that date. Only after a full year of recompense, does ben David come in year 8 probably in the vicinity of Yom Kippur to give it the flavor of a Yovel year in Eretz Yisrael.

Ah, but the 9 months b'Rachamim began with the 4 x 26 murderous prisoner releases in Av of 5773. Those 9 months end on Pesach in 3 months. Whether it is the 1st or last day of Pesach is debatable. So we will have Yud Key Vav Key by Pesach, and Elokim by Sukkot. Did you notice that Ariel Sharon was one month shy of his 86th birthday? 86 = gematriah Elokim

One of my first question for Eliyahu HaNavi will be, why was this delayed an additional year? The Zohar seemed to say that it would begin in Av 5772 which was about 60 days after the alignment between the sun and the 7 Sisters during the eclipse, but the 9 months b'Rachamim began in Av 5773.
